Gangadhar J. Sanjayan (G. J. Sanjayan), fascinated by color chemistry in his early days of laboratory encounters, chose chemistry as a career to fulfill his research ambitions. After completing his PhD studies in heterocyclic chemistry from Banaras Hindu University (advisor: Prof. A.K. Mukherjee), Sanjayan joined the group of Prof. K. N. Ganesh (NCL-Pune) for his first stint of post-doctoral studies (peptide nucleic acids & molecular self-assembly). Later, he moved to the University of Oxford, UK, to work with Prof. George. W. J.
